what can you expect? Are you automatically entitled to anything if you are not being paid? If you aren't, what is reasonable to ask for as far as credits (I would also appreciate a little more info on these too please!), etc.

Well, your question has to be a little more specific. If you're not being paid for a job, is it with a professional theatre? Is it a student film? What was the production? Did you sign a contract? What stipulations were in the contract if you did sign one?
Most student films you won't get paid for, but you may get credit and a video copy to use when you're designing your reel.
Some student films are funded enough to where they can offer transportation costs and possible craft services. (Most don't)
If its a professional stage, look at your contract. My first professional production, I was contracted to NOT be paid (hey, it was my first pro gig and I needed to build my resume). I was alotted a portion of the house profit. So actually, I made a whopping $6.45.
Make sure, before you take on ANY job, you know the pay, and the credits. Nothing in this business is entitled to you, unless you demand it.

This particular job is for a web series. I haven't even auditioned for it yet but the whole thing just made me wonder. If there was anything to be discussed is there anything I could ask for? I mean do they generally have copies of the filming available to the actors to keep or anything?

Usually, they on the call will tell you what you get(copy, credit, fed, etc.). Just because it says that you'll get a copy of the film, doesn't me you will always do. this goes for indies. If they want to summit it to Sundance, for example they can't make copies of the film and sometimes the money to finish the film runs out. The jobs that are not paid, I usually look it as the project as a learning experience. Only 1/7 projects that I did last year were paid. One of the 6, did say that he'll try to get me a copy.
