Hi Worth More--"this person" is also the moderator of this forum. While most of the people posting here use aliases, my name is plastered right on the forum's description and in my signature and screen name. Personally, I wish everyone's real name was used--I think there might be less temptation to, oh, I don't know, slam people.

I think I know which column you're talking about--it came out today in print and will come on the web in a few days. I wrote some things about AFTRA and the 4As a couple weeks ago. One of the things I wrote turned out to be untrue--namely, that ALL 4A members are asked by their unions not to work nonunion in other union's jurisdictions. I wrote this in a response to a question about AFTRA and SAG (for which this is true) but didn't realize that AGVA did not uphold this "rule." I'm not a dancer, and don't get many questions from dancers, and since the question at hand was re: SAG and AFTRA my research into the 4A agreement focused on those unions (and AEA, which is also quite pertinent for my readers). I should have specified I was speaking about these 4A members and not the entire list of unions. I was quite surprised by the AGVA position on this issue and the tone of the email (which was quite harsh on AGMA). It seems counterintuitive to me that SAG members would be asked to honor AGVA union lines, but AGVA doesn't ask its members to do the same. Any AGVA members out there that want to explain this to me?
As for the 2nd mistake--I actually take no responsibility for that. The Editorial staff added the mistaken sentence after the column left my hands and before it went to print. They attempted to clarify whether AFTRA remained in the 4As, and while I had originally stated it had, they--mistakenly--said it had not.

Yes, I made a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. I write 51 columns per year (and have for over 5 years). If you find the column helpful, read it. If not, there are plenty of other features in backstage for your edification. Hope this clarifies "what on earth I was thinking."

Good night!
