Until more women get into higher positions of writer, director and producer, this will continue to happen. That's why I respect people out there like Sarah Jessica Parker who help to produce stuff for "normal" women as well. Smiler

I agree!!! this the year 2008, not the 60's!!! Women need to be more proactive on the business/production side of things instead of being part of the meat market. Girls, stay home and write a screenplay and geti it produced even guerilla style instead of hitting the bars and clubs etc. It is this sort of thing(hitting the clubs etc) that will always ensure Hollywood is a men's club. They run the show, we are the "bimbos" and tramps trying to schmooze our way into a movie. That is still how the majority of men see us, even if we are not that way. Every time you see a girl (or maybe you are that girl) on a set or at a party batting her eyes at a producer while she stuffs her wedding ring in her pocket, every time that happens we are forced back into subservience a little bit more. I am a member of Women in Film and any self-respecting actress should be as well. I am certainly good-looking enough for any guy to like and I am sure many of you other ladies are too. We should not endure this treatment and these males who insist on making us feel we are not pretty enough, skinny enough, young enough, stacked enough etc. When I left Las Vegas I was the "it" girl- bar none. I come out here and it seems that myself- a 28 year old with full lips, long blonde hair, a size 6 dress size and tons of energy etc is simply unacceptable, even to work as a waitress! I have at times been kicked out the door without even an interview, even if I was already scheduled! They literally look me up and down and quickly send me on my way. You know what, I might not be 18 years old and size O anymore but I have three things going for me I did not have then--
1 common sense
2 being twenty pounds heavier has made my boobs bigger (husband happy)
3 plenty of practice has made me better in the sack (husband REALLY happy) Real women know how to please their men.....
Yeah, you guys can say to suck it up but why should we? In a sense, we are fighting for rights and change- just like the unions did and will continue to do so. You cannot relate unless you are a woman. Godspeed actors- and ACTRESSES!!!!!

Who says you couldn't have had him when you were 3 years old? I mean, it COULD happen!

I always did feel for you actresses. At the last audition I did there were like 15 really attractive women at the call back and all of them were wearing, uh, non-daytime clothes. I was there in a t-shirt and jeans. I got the part and the woman who played opposite as my wife was way way way way out of my league. I am no prize mind you, but she was really beautiful. Fortunately she was also a very good actor so I'm hoping that that is still the number one priority.
