OK, I am now getting a little peeved by the lack of attention to this. I have asked several times as to why the listings are not being updated , the last update was January 10th...I use these updates for my mailings and they are of no use if they are out of date. Does anyone know to whom I should address this?

I finally got a response after I emailed through Back Stage, but no answer as to when it will be fixed, but I did get a refund on a month's subscription, but it still is very irritating. They just say that there is a problem with the display, well I could have worked that out!

Is that to say that all RR subscribers will be getting refunds (which I doubt that they'd do that unless you speak up)?

What's the norm (prior to this latest lag) on how often they updated?

Interesting heads up on this issue.
Why pay for an outdated list of information!

My advise is to make a quick call to the agent's/CD's office, and politely say in 5-seconds "is your mailing address still (give the address)..."

If they say, "No, its actually (new address)..."

...then you'll update your list.

If the number says "disconnected/out of service"

...then you'll update your list.

If you're mailing out to say 30 agents a month,
make 10 calls a week. And mail to those 10 agencies/CDs. The call won't take much time. Just be polite and to the point...say thanks....then hang up.

In other words, be proactive
and you'll save on postage and aggravation.

In the meantime, Backstage needs to get on this list asap. I find it unacceptable. Confused

True, MR.

My opinion: the bigger concern for updates is the agent/CD listings. Contact information can be Googled, but agents and CD's come and go; it's not a situation where in a few seconds you can call up and ask the receptionist who's new in which department, and please spell their names slowly so you can write it correctly.

Backstage and Ross Reports are two separate companies with separate staffs... but I will forward your concerns on to TPTB.

Do you guys use the backstage production charts?

Here are a couple of places to find the most current updates for agents and CDs.

Breakdown Services Directories - Online
http://www.breakdownservices.com/store/directories.html

www.castingabout.com - daily CD updates

- MIB -
If you can dream, you can do. Making it happen is up to you.

I passed your concerns up the chain of command, so hopefully some progress will be made asap!

Bump.

The Listing Updates are updated as of May 5. If, in fact, you were magical, Jackie, and made it happen last time, would you please be magical again and notify the aforementioned chain of command again? Thanks! Smiler

We received it. The updates to the database has been made -- it's just the listing of what the changes have been that needs to be fixed, which we'll make ASAP.

Apologies.

I really like the www.castingabout.com website, but I was wondering if they have something like that for NYC?

This situation has happened before and is one of the reasons why I dropped my online subscriptions to BACKSTAGE and ROSS REPORTS.

BTW The Breakdown Service doesn't have directories for NY-- or at least they didn't last time I looked.
