Boston police are warning would-be starlets to beware after receiving several reports of a man falsely claiming to be a movie producer arranging meetings over the Internet with women seeking movie roles. (click link to read more)

It's certainly useful to warn people. Unfortunately this kind of thing doesn't just happen on the Net and the kind of person who falls for it probably isn't reading these boards, or thinks they're the exception.

Common sense should tell women not to be alone with men they don't know. Unfortunately, common sense goes out the window when people byy the various bogus titles that are thrown around the music, film and modeling businesses.

Actually, this guy contacted me through another actor site and he wanted me to come from NY to Boston to audition for a movie starring Ben Stiller. I never went, thank god, it sounded so shady, but then I saw the article and called the Boston Police- same guy, same fake production company name, same details. Hopefully this guy will end up in jail.
