I need some advice:

I would really like to be a part of the Shakespeare Lab this summer at the Public. It's an intensive three month program that meets every day, Monday through Friday.

However, I also want to pursue a career in voice over work. I have a meeting soon at Actors Connection with someone I'd love to work with.

I realize I'm getting WAAAAY ahead of myself in assuming that I'm going accepted to the program AND get representation from this meeting. I realize that.

But there's a worst case scenario that's got me bothered: Let's say I do get both.

Let's say the agent signs me and then, a month later, I get into the lab. Doing the lab would preclude me from auditioning. That might make an agent upset, yes? I suppose it depends on the agent.

Should I go through with the meeting or postpone such meetings until after I find out whether or not I get into the lab? Or, should I move full speed ahead with everything as planned?

Thanks. Your experience on these tricky tightrope situations is appreciated.

I realize this post has been up a couple weeks, but I just saw it combing over the older posts, and in case this helps:
Pursue both doggedly and with all your might! Don't worry about what an agent you don't even have yet will want from you. Most agents are thrilled to work with motivated people who get things for themselves and the likelihood is that even if you get representation, he or she will be happy to help you figure out audition situations as they arise.I don't know the lab hours, but audition hours are sometimes odd and its possible you'll be able to squeeze them in. Besides, you can't be the only actor trying to juggle auditions that is going to do the Shakespeare Lab. And an agent should be with you longer than the summer, so he or she might be happy to help you get more training and spring you on the VO world in the Fall. Good luck!!!
