Ok, so here's my question:

I've been in NYC for about 2 yrs now. I've done quite a bit of student film, and some independent shorts. I want to put together my reel, and I feel like I have a decent about of footage to work with.
However, I just recently booked my first feature length film (woo hoo!). It is an indy comedy, but I can already tell they are much more professional than any of the films I've worked on before.
My dilema is, now I don't know if I should just use the footage I already have, or wait for the more professional footage from this project? I'm told we should be done filming by mid-December, but I have no idea when they would be finished editing.
Any opinions on whether I should use what I have or just wait?
Thanks!

Go ahead and make the best reel you can now. If they are finished shooting in December, it will be quite some time before you see a finished product. when it is finished, update your reel!

Reels are constantly in flux. Like resumes, they are improving and updating all the time. I try to update my reel about once a year. Once in awhile, I get something really outstanding which causes me to update it sooner.
