I have been subscribed to NYCastings for a few months now, and would like to get some feedback from others who have used them.

I've gotten a few calls, but not as many as I thought. I've also heard of and checked out another site called Actingland.com, which is a lot cheaper than NYCastings and seems to offer the same, if not better, marketing preferances.

Are there any other casting sites that anyone has tried and loved/gotten good work from? I've seen Actor's Access in many people's posts and have yet to check them out.

I subscribe to AgencyPro through www.bostoncasting.com. So far my experience has been, overall, very good. They send me event notifications, and they hold their own auditions for commercials for such companies as Gillette and ESPN (both of which I was able to land). They also send out emails for casting calls for general background, and some other small roles. I also subscribe to NYCasting.com (Not NYCastings). Each day I am notified via email of at least 4-5 opportunites as far as background is concerned. However, NYCasting, like Boston Casting doesn't just do background. They also send out direct cast notifications for like, student films (NYU, NYFA), non union films, and commercials as well.

Some of them are pretty good, I don't really know if they're worth it, but I enjoy my subscriptions, if for nothing else than to see what opportunities are available for me at this point in time. Unfortunately, being a full time student in Virginia makes landing some of these roles impossible due to timing.

I think I may give actors access a try as well, we'll see.

We've used actors access, backstage and the boston casting agency pro (but don't pay for the upgraded site). Actors access is free and you only pay if you want to submit yourself for a project ($2) or you pay a yearly fee that gets you all the submissions and sides on Showfax. This is the one that the cd's look at (actors access).

Be careful with craigslist. Much of the stuff on that site is not legitimate.

I've been checking out www.showbusinessweekly.com and it's been a great resource and very helpful. There are constantly new castings being posted. I would suggest giving them a try! Smiler
