I did a search here and thought that callsheet gives that information. I subscribed to it just now but all it gives are just mailing list of CDs by region... It doens't give information as to who is casting currently for what project. Where do you get that information?

Castingabout.com is by breakdown services so it should give the lowdown of film/tv project in the LA and NY area.

I thought Castingabout.come was independent---did they join up with breakdown services recently?

There are lots of sites and publications that try and give this info. It's always changing so none of them are 100% accurate. Castingabout is great for TV... There are listings in the back of backstage with some of this info. Also Ross Reports covers it (doesn't it?).

What else do you guys use?

I thought Casting About and Breakdown services were always together. For as long as I can remember, it always said "powered by Breakdown services" on the site.

Bklyn

I just bought the Casting Director address labels from:

http://www.dailyactor.com/mailing-labels/

They came with a comprehensive

list, by CD, and also

by show.

Just saw "Moon" with Sam Rockwell. Awesome. I will humbly trade a motorcycle tour of LA or a nice haiku for the name of the casting office on Mute, Duncan Jones' next project.

:P

Thanks nonstagemom. Wrong continent I guess, but you never know. After seeing Moon, this is the kind of project I'd just want to be a part of. It's nice to see one of those once in awhile. Smiler

Here is your haiku. Thanks again.

Palm trees, sun, potholes
Bike needs work. So does my scene.
Date with a stripper.

Didn't think you weren't. Just concerned about bike problems. Every guy wants to date a stripper at some point in his life. Oh, I get it, a haiku about being normal. I'm slow.

British director Duncan Jones' may use the same casting directors he had success with on "Moon": Manuel Puro and Jeremy Zimmerman, since "Mute" is being produced by the same company that did "Moon". Yeah, in England. Though there's little chance they'd cast an unknown L.A. actor, you could still contact them and let them know what an impact "Moon" had on you. Planting tiny seeds for future growth -- that's what this business is all about. (I got an audition for 3-time Tony Award-winning director Michael Blakemore, as a direct result of writing him a letter after I'd been so impressed by seeing his play "Lettice and Lovage". Ya just never know.)

Liberty Films UK is a production company, not a casting office.

contact info for:
Puro Casting
office@purocasting.com

If you send a note, make it very gracious.

I don't need a haiku or a motorcycle tour, thanks.

Hey, Duncan Jones might like a haiku from a motorcycle-riding stripper-dating actor. He's the son of David Bowie!

Thanks, B2H. I wrote off and offered my services (various entry level production) especially for casting. Being casting assistant on this would honestly be more than I expected.

Puro wrote me back saying nothing was set yet but thanks, he'd keep my info for assistance/internship and he liked the directness.

So thanks!

What?! You sent an email to a casting director you don't know offering your services!?!?! But everybody says you should never do that!

Hahaha. See. Sometimes (most times) you have to do things that are contrary to what most people would do.

Good for you! Cool
