Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, the new 2009 Electric Company etc: I've always wondered how these shows get their adult actors because I never see casting breakdowns for those roles.

Does anyone know how these shows find talent?

I believe all 3 of these shows film/filmed in NYC. Reading Rainbow aired its last show this past August.

Any child or adult actors I know who have auditioned or worked for these shows, usually got their auditions through their agents. In all the years they've aired, I don't think I've ever seen their breakdowns listed on public casting sites, unless they were in an East Coast site I didn't see.

You can always find out who the CD is for each show and self submit a general submission for possibilities of upcoming roles, if you are willing to travel to or relocate to NY. Don't count on hearing anything, though, but you never know until you try.

I was om a segment of Sesame Street, called Word on The Street. The audition notice was on either NYcastings.com or ActorsAccess.com.

Anyone know of any children shows that are filmed in LA and union? I checked the shows currently under AFTRA but couldn't find any.
