I am the front runner (in agent's words)for a principal part on law&order. It pays SAG rate. Before they put out a contract or anything, I would have to tell them...

Would I shave my head bald for this role? I knew from before the audition but I, ever the optimist, didn't think I had a chance.

Well, I do. So, what should I do actors? Would you take a role like this?

I think that I had more confidence in you than you did, little girl.

Congratulations on your call-back! Btw, even if you don't make the final cut, you will considered for other roles and they will continue to call you in until you book (another wonderful aspect of auditioning for Wolf Productions).

At this early stage of your career Morgin, if I were you, I WOULD SHAVE MY HEAD AND PAINT MY FACE BLUE IF THEY WANTED ME TO. Hair grows back. In the interim, you could always wear a wig and continue to go out for other roles.

A credit like Law & Order is something you don't ever pass up (and if your mother objects, you can blame it all on me).Big Grin

Thanks for your help, Robert. Don't worry, you're still doing my pictures. With my real hair or with a wig.

I do think I am going to do it if I am offered the role. If I have to shop it off, it's going to a real child with cancer. Smiler

Beggars can't be choosers if an appropriate saying here. As is follow your dreams and a few others. And besides, it's LAW AND ORDER! My favorite show! Smiler

So thanks, Robert!

If you land the job (which I have no doubt you will), I'll shoot a headshot of you afterward with the "Kojak" look.

NO ONE would ever have a headshot like that!

Morgin--just my opinion, but I'd probably have done it were I in your shoes...Although, it makes one wonder why they can't use a bald cap....?

Not only should you do it, but you shouldn't think of it as a negative in any way. It's not a case of "beggars can't be choosers," but rather, a cool, interesting part of this particular acting assignment.

And here's the perk you might not have thought of: Until it grows back, it will be a conversation starter. Everyone will ask about it, and you'll be able to let them know you're a working actor when you say, "I had to shave it for an episode of Law and Order."

I had to grow out my nails once to play a retired drag queen. It was cool, and different, and everyone wanted to know what that was about.

Thanks for all the help! Your right, Michael. And wow!
And Jackie, I have no idea. Authenticity, I'm assuming.

Keep your fingers crossed. I find out on Monday. Big Grin

You should definitely do it.

If I were you (even now or even older) I would shave my eyebrows for a role like that. I would gain 20 or more pounds if needed. I would peel my own nails with a pair of pliers (okay not for this role necessarily, but for an important role in anything... maybe I might do it for this role, yeah I probably would... but they better get a lot of close-ups of me).

So do it, and don't have regrets about it. Be happy you were able to get that role. Wigs are always available, but the pixi look is always popular and edgy in the near future when it grows back.

If you don't do it, then imagine that role given to the girl that was able to do it. That same girl will get more opportunities while you still stuck in stalemate. Pretty soon that same girl will be known for the shave look, and start a huge fashion trend that all the preteen-early teen girls are copying. That girl could be you. (went too far with the trend, but you never know)

Congratulations! You're definitely going to get it; 100% sure.

Shave your head bald? That's awesome. Just don't do it for the audition. LOL.

One more reason I prefer acting over other jobs is the chance to do this kind of work.

Work in mud up to your neck? On a highrise? In vats of sticky prop goo? Tied up as a prisoner? As an amputee?

Fun of the job!
