Hi! I'm starting to put together music for a demo cd with musical theater as my main focus. However, I know nothing about this process!
I figured 5 songs of short length should be more than sufficient. (ballad, uptempo, pop, r&b and country) Other than that...what do I need to do in terms of piano and recording? Is only piano sufficient for the whole cd? Or do I need professional background tracks (which then would require full songs. as originially written) What do I look for in a recording studio?

Any insight would be greatly apprecitaed!
