I'm thinking of taking classes at HB. Does anyone have any recommendations for teachers or classes or any info at all about the studio? Their prices are great and I love Uta so...

For traditional, straight up Uta "exercises" right out of her books-- Matthew Arkin and Jim Boerlin teach technique classes. Scene Study Austin Pendleton, camera classes Karen Ludwig and Sam Groom. They also offer great workshops with top-notch (and still working) actors/teachers, and voice, movement, and more! This is a great school and i love it here!

i was unimpressed with the weekend improv class. i only did one session, but my bf took the class and was also unimpressed, though it gave him something new to do and try

I studied Technique/Scene Study with Michael Beckett for a while and I thought he was good. I just recently started an Improv for Actors there and so far I think it is fairly good. The best thing to do is audit the class to see if you like how the teacher works.
