From what the news has been saying, the post office is going to be raising rates every May. It's best to buy those "Forever Stamps" that they sell and this way you won't have to worry about the increases.

They're stamps that don't have a value on them. They have forever written on the side. I have some. The ones I have, have a picture of the Liberty Bell on them.

Those are the best stamps. I get entire rolls of them, but you can get a book of twenty for about 8 bucks. It all depends on how much you use the postal service whether or not how much you want to spend on these things. i got a roll of 400 a few months ago, and I know they'll last me for quite sometime. The postal rate will just continue to go up. Eh, what can ya do.

This is the best possible advice.
I just went to the post office to replenish my stamp supply and learned that unfortunately, constantly rising prices on stamps will be as commonplace as the rising price of gasoline.
The only way to avoid these perpetual increases is to simply buy as many of these "forever" stamps as you can afford! All of the stamps you purchase today will be good 'forever' (that is, until you run out), and will never be subject to the ever-increasing rates of the Post Office again. A very good thing.
You can order them online. The Forever stamps don't have a value printed on them, but to buy them they will cost the current rate whenever it increases. The good part is that they will never require additional postage for a 1oz letter once they are purchased, even after a rate increase. That's why it is a great idea to purchase as many as you can before the next increase, as Diane and Robert stated. http://shop.usps.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductD...ctId=37901&langId=-1
