so as i sit here trying to file for unemployment, i am realizing just how complicated it is to reside in NY but claim MD as my home.

i had jobs all over the place and had to report all of them, and it was confusing to the poor operator as i listed all of the jobs i had for the last 18 months.

is there anyine else who lives in NY or CA, but claims residence in another state for tax purposes?

for those of you in NY or CA who are actual residents of those states, but who does a lot of work outside of those states (especially for you theatre people in NY), do you find it any easier to do your taxes knowing your official residence is NY, even though you are working in other states?

what about anyone who has filed for unemployment who pays taxes in a state different from where you live?

i'm just wondering if it's any easier to pay taxes or file for unemployment if you state you live in NY or CA, even though you work elsewhere.

i guess i'm different because i live in NY and work in NY, but i pay my taxes through MD and sometimes work in MD too.

i just want to make things easier. id'a ppreciate any advice!
