I submit to Actors Access all the time and have been cast in several things. The key is to submit as soon as the breakdown gets posted. There are so many people submitting to these things that frequently the CDs will look at the first 50 or so and stop.

It could be that you're located in Philly, and not in NYC.

Cmail is the messaging system on actors access. It's in the top right corner of the screen when you log in.

In my own little world.

Another tip is to submit BEFORE you receive the e-mail noitce of breakdowns right for the actor, which means reading through them more often. Sometimes those notices arrive more than an hour or two after the breakdown is posted.

This is a great point. Even for smaller projects the submissions can be overwhelming. I will say, however, that depending on your type the roles may be more or less impacted. There are many more 20 somethings than 50 somethings on actors access.

Also, if you see a breakdown you're perfect for that's a day or two or even-gasp--a week old, don't despair. Go ahead and submit. Sometimes CDs let submissions accrue before looking and sometimes, if they don't find what they want the first time, they go back to the original submissions and look again.

The other thing I heard is that the actors with videos in the system get put at the top of the CD's list that they see.
