I came across a professional looking agency which I found through an unrelated site and was going to send a submission. The only thing is they want me to send it to a PO Box. They look very legit but I've never seen an agency ask for submissions to a PO Box, and it looks a little sketchy to me. This might be nothing, but I've never seen it before and want to make sure!

Not sketchy at all-probably just a place that doesn't want dropoffs, and just wants to go through submissions on their own schedule. Maybe they share office space with someone else and want their mail seperate. Lots of casting offices, agents, and others do this. A lot of actors too. Granted, this may mean that your submission is received on their time frame instead of yours. If you can find a physical address use it if possible, but asking for submissions to go to a PO Box is no red flag by any stretch.

I wouldn't worry about it... some of the places that do have address are sketchy too.

Now this is Sketchy: I do most of my personal submissions digitally now, but there was one submission that I was perfect for, but it was hard copies only, so I mailed one in. And sure enough, a week later, people started calling me and trying to get me to sign up for showcases... they wouldn’t tell me where they got my name, but from what they knew about me, they must have bought my resume from the casting agency. They had a real address, and they were sketchy.

Iceman: was that a casting notice you saw on Back Stage? If so, can you PM me with the notice info so I can follow up. We have encountered (and busted) such scams in the past.
