Hi guys

Our next installment of the Successful Actor (should be called the proactive actor!) is coming up. Tuesday Sept. 29th at 7:30pm at AADA in Hollywood. Our topic: a conversation with working actors. It's actually almost full, so rsvp asap if you want to come.

I hope you can join me. I have done many events with Bob Clendenin (one of the speakers) and he is incredible!

Well, at least you are busy BEING a working actor! Actually, we have had a really good rsvp response to this one and may do another one like it in the series.

Bobby is a sweetie. If you don't know his name, you almost certainly know his (rather unique) face. Among other things, he has played God on "Joan of Arcadia", an uber-hip photographer on "Ugly Betty", and a creepy ice-cream truck driver on a show that doesn't come to mind.

It would probably be easier to list the shows he HASN'T been on than those he has.

Even getting there late (Curse you, Valley traffic! Curse you!) this was both useful and fun. I've met Bob Clendenin socially more than once, but had never seen him hold forth - as funny as he was incisive. The other two guests (Jackie will have to give their names) were frank and informative, full of good advice and good attitude. And most of the major subjects you might want to know about were covered - changes in the business over the years, getting an agent, usefulness of monologues, dealing with unresponsive partners, etc.

What I saw only made me regret more having missed the start.

Thanks, Jim. It was Bob, Ameenah Kaplan, and Tom Kiesche. I always love those talks!
