I hoping to get my headshots done next month, and I would like to know of some hair conditioning treatments for home and any good hair places that do it?

What type of hair do you have?

Is it Caucasian or African American?

Straight, wavy or curly?

Thick or fine?

Do you color your hair?

Is it coarse?

Do you have dry or brittle ends?

Is your hair long or short?

You see, one conditioning doesn't do it all as there are many hair types.

One conditioner that tends to get satisfactory results is the FRUCTIS line by Garnier. Their conditioner has avocado oil in it, and it softens and smoothes the roughest hair. One of their commercials airing now guarantees 97% smoothness in the highest humidity.

The other is Pantene line.

Once you fill us in on your hair and what type it is, people can give you a better answer.

Try beauty magazines, every month magazines like Cosmo and Lucky have "best hair' products that they try out and have readers report on.

Good luck!

I'm euro-asian. I have thick hair (a lot of it).
It's about bra strap length. It's a little dry (so are the ends).
It likes to fly away (especially the day after I wash it).

My hair is naturally wavy-curly, dark brown, and I think it's medium in thickness.

I put guacamole into my hair; wrap it around in plastic and wear over night.

Also put warm olive oil into hair, and on the eyebrows to thicken it. That's an Indian technique using the Ayurveda ways.

Get your vitamins for the new growth, and drink tons of water.

Also watch this video, not necessarily for hair but I think it might help. She's 34.

Try a weekly intensive conditioner. Also try a daily leave-in conditioner, which will slightly weigh down the hair (i.e., less flyaways).

Hair products are your friends. To tame flyaways, look for balm with silicone. Mix with gel before applying to slightly damp hair for extra hold- when you mix it, it won't be as crunchy as gel alone.

For extra moisture, apply a glossing product from the ends up, so that the scalp doesn't look greasy, and brush it out with a natural bristle brush so that the oil is more evenly distributed.

I also use a small amount of a some type of finishing wax product my hair lady used on me for that Pantene hair look. Note: this is not some spiking wax product.

Not going to recommend specific products because I look for specific qualities of a product, and then open and sniff. What I think smells good, you may think smells like A$$.

My hair seems similar to yours- long, thick, and dry, with a combination of coarse and fine textures.

Since you're addressing hair specifically for your headshots, FIND A GOOD HAIRSTYLIST FOR THE SHOOT!

You want to stick with good salon brands. Nothing supermarket, with one or two exceptions. Joico is excellent. I am thoroughly satisfied with their products and have been for years. I use K-Pak MOISTURE. There is also K-Pak PROTEIN which should be used far less often as too much protein can make hair snap.

One of the supermarket exceptions I mention is this-

Organix Replenishing Conditioner with Olive Oil. You will find it in the black hair care section of Walmart and it is in individual packets OR a bottle which is yellow and green. Better bang for your buck in the bottle. I use that twice a month.

I love "Organix" line. Although, I don't have much of a need to condition nowadays.... Wink

You know, I've heard shoulder length, chin length, down the back, but never ever bra strap. And Euro-Asian? Euro where? To hazard a guess on what you provided -- you are probably wavy at best or bone straight.

Try Ouidad. I hear they are great for wavy/curly hair. Or fructis garnier - cheaper and same results.
