I have straight and nice teeth, but they are slightly discolored (genetics), and I want a bright white smile. Dental veneers scare me for several reasons, mainly due to how it is such an evasive procedure for your teeth, and I'm in my mid-twenties and don't want my teeth shaved down in any way, even if it is just a little.
I've done some serious online research, and I came across "Snap on smiles". At first I rolled my eyes because it seemed like such a dumb gimmick. But I've done a lot of research and they look like a great option for someone in my position. I just want something I can put on for auditions and when I'm actually working on set, not for my everday life outside acting.
Does anyone here have any experience either having a snap on smile or knowing others who do? I saw the other post in this forum regarding someone who had them and liked them, but I wanted to start a specific topic on the product.
My main concern is if the smile looks real when you are wearing it. I don't want eyebrows raised when I open my mouth and speak.

Hi Blair, I don't know if you ever got any response to this or if you ever looked into it further, but I've been in the dental field for 24+ years and can tell you that Snap On Smile is TOTALLY worth it!
There are no shots, no drilling and no adhesives for it to stay in. It "snaps" right over your natural teeth and it looks beautiful!
Plus, compared to doing permanent cosmetic work, it is a fraction of the cost. And with proper care, it can last anywhere between 3-5 years.
If you would like to get a referral to someone in NYC in your area who is doing it, you can reply to me and I can guide you in the right direction.
Keep Smilin' Pamela

I have used the Snap on Smile on 3 of my patients and have been very disappointed in the results. The applainces had to go back to the lab multiple times for errors and my patients felt the smiles did not enhance their smiles and in one instance broke within a week. Great idea but a no go for my practice and patients.

I recommend aesthetic cosmetic surgery procedures, dental improvement, etc., when necessary.
It's just BAD WORK (excessive and of poor quality) that I warn against (Find: "Profile Pictures"). As in everything else, always do your research before attempting anything that effects your overall health and appearance.
Bad headshots are easy to correct, medical procedures aren't.
FYI...just so all of you other responders are aware, the posting from "Cybecorrespondent" is actually from a disgruntled lab tech that tried inventing his own 'snap on teeth' idea, but it failed (search for snap on teeth on You Tube and you will see him and his ugly appliance).
He is now out to bad mouth Snap on Smile and it's inventor because his product was far superior than this guy's. I guarantee you will see postings from him under an additional 2 or 3 alias's because he wants you to think you are getting unbiased opinions from 'real' people. He and his postings are phoney and fraudulent. Beware believing what you read here. Do your own investigation. I gave my contact info "GumGoddessRDH@Yahoo.com" so if you have any interest, you can communicate with a REAL dental professional.
Is Snap on Smile the 'be all, end all' appliance? Of course not! However, it fills a need for both patients and doctors.
For the doctors that have "errors" with their appliance, I can only say that it is imperative for the lab to get an 'exquisite' impression submitted. If a shoddy impression is submitted or if a model is sent instead of an impression, that could be the reason why the appliance didn't fit well.
Let me ask you this, for the hundreds or perhaps thousands of individual crowns you've had your labs create over the years, did EVERY SINGLE ONE come back a perfect fit? You'd be lying if you said yes and you know it. There are margins of error for every lab process, so give it a rest.
Garbage in...Garbage out.
The rest of you, I'm sad to see that people live in such a black/white world still. There are many shades of gray and if you close yourselves off to that, you're missing out.

I could use some help myself. I'm suffering from some serious tooth decay, I need to have 4 or 5 teeth removed, and my teeth are very yellowed. I don't have insurance. Where can I go to get all my dental problems fixed cheaply?

I would get this if it was like $500, since it's nothing more than just like a wig or a color eye contact.
But I am really going to research this one, since on my bottom teeth they are a little crooked (definitely not noticeable) but I want my close ups to be perfect.
