Hey guys!

I'm hoping maybe someone might be able to help me out.
I am interested in trying spin classes. BUT, I would really rather not join a gym.
Does anyone know of a place where I could take a spin class without signing my life away to the gym?
I realize this might be a hopeless request, but who knows.
Also, has anyone done spin training? If so, what do you think of it?
Thank you very much!

i LOVE spinning! I spin about 6 days a week. Sometimes 7. I'm a member of Crunch so I go to the Crunch closest to me in brooklyn. When I can't make a class, I bring my Ipod or a CD and spin on my own (sometimes for 2 hours). i absolutely love it and it's a great workout for me. Also helps me work out any stress or weird energy. i feel so much better afterwards. I actually start to miss it if I havent been able to spin for a few days because of auditions or a shoot. lol

Anyway, there is a place on the Upper West Side that I read about that is a spin studio and you can pay per class. I don't remember the name but I saw it when doing a google search on spinning in nyc. it looked like a pretty cool studio. They have a wall painted like a road. One day, I'm going to go check out a class there.

Good luck and happy spinning!

Spinning classes are INTENSE but so worth it. After my first one I felt like I wouldn't be able to walk for YEARS. It's an awesome workout.

Thanks Libby on the heads up! I'm going to google that now!

This post is making me laugh.

I had no idea what spinning was till I watched an episode of Six Feet Under where the mother and daughter were staying at the aunt's house.

the aunt was so into spinning that she wanted them to do it first thing in the morning. the mother and daughter snuck out of the house in the middle of the night and fled.

AHAHAAHAHHAHA

Thank you so much for the information!

That is a huge help!

I just didn't want to join a gym because I never seem to do so well with that. Smiler

Of course I'm also kind of terrified of spin class because I know it's a SERIOUS workout. But I love the idea of having a studio where I can try it out to see if it's even a remote possibility of being something I can do.

Thank you again!!
