I've made a career of studying the human face, and I can say with total honesty that I've never seen a human being with a perfectly symmetrical face. That includes we mere mortals, to super models. I met Cindy Crawford on a shoot at Smashbox in LA and found her face as imperfect in this way as any. Many aspects of her body would be considered quite "full-figured" by today's standards. Even the great Paulina Porizkova constantly stressed about her teeth and the asymmetry of her jaw, and always complained about it. I've noticed that our greatest American actors aren't usually the most perfect-looking either... Dusty Hoffman is about as tall as a large gnome, and Meryl Streep is the possessor of a nose that might have worked better on Julius Caesar, but anyone would characterize their careers as, "stellar." Another perfect example of facial imperfections, perfected, is Barbra Streisand. It is rumored that she even had her nose insured by Lloyd's of London! We're all imperfect beings, ActorT913. So celebrate our diversity and imperfections -- that's where our true character, unique qualities and individuality lie. Get over it, and get on with it!! "Whatever works." www.robertkim.com

I saw Barkin in a hamburger joint called "Johnny Rockets" in LA many years ago, boheme. She had just completed her first starring role in "Diner," ironically. When I asked her like any other dumb fan, "Are you that girl from "Diner"?, she flashed that wry grin at me, and I was amazed... she was so TINY!! Whether short or tall, fat or thin, black or white, man or woman -- turn whatever makes you different into an actual career. "Whatever works." www.robertkim.com
