I just really need to hear people's thoughts on this. I recently had a musical theatre audition where I totally went blank on my words in the song. I dont know what happened, but it was bad. I feel so disappointed with myself and feel like I have just made the biggest fool of myself. I know I just need to let it go, and move on, but I just keep reminding myself of it.
I know people have bad auditions in there careers, and this was the first time I had actually really screwed up in an audition (I only started auditioning a couple months ago!). I was just wondering what everyone else does to get them past the bad auditions, so they can move onwards and upwards!? Or am I just being a total amateur by bothering about this?
It is just frustrating me, and I needed to write down my concerns. I know I am being dramatic, but hey we are all actors here, and I am sure we have all had our share of dramatic moments.

I know, it's easy for me. I wasn't on stage, it was you.
But, believe me, that actor, that didn't have to face that empty space has yet to be born.
So to say, this was your first, and it made you an actor no less than a good audition.
Remember: it happens to actors in the middle of a stage play.
So, take it easy, and next time will be better. Just don't try to pressure yourself into an impossible Ms/Mr. 100% role. Because the only 100% you can get is 100% failure, and even that kind of perfection is hard to get.
Great actors fail. And you, who's rather at the beginning, think you are excluded?
Welcome to the club.

Something similar happened to my dd the other day. She had to sing a song (she learned for the audition)and totally blanked out on the words eventhough she had them memorized. The woman gave her the words & she still was blank so asked to hear the beginning. She sang a little part of the song and came out upset saying she messed the audition up. Guess what she was wrong! She got a callback. It happens to everyone so just move on.

Well, sometimes... Things just happened. The best thing to do is, moving forward. There's always the NEXT audition that you need to focus on.
At least, that's what I do now days. I would prepare, and go to the audition... After I'm done. That was it. I don't think about it anymore. If I did good, I'd pad myself on the shoulder. If I screwed it up, then I would think how I can be better prepared for the next audition.
