Hello, I am going to begin a subscription to breakdown services and am hoping to form a small group of actors to split the cost of the subscription. If interested and want more information please email actinggroup@ymail.com

I would be careful what you say here.

It is illegal for actors to have access to the breakdowns. If you have access, whomever is providing them to you is doing so illegally.

CD's and Agents pay a great deal of money.

I do know actors who have them, but it is illegal and I would not broadcast that you have them on a public forum.

This is illegal. Casting Directors aren't going to respond to ones that weren't properly purchased by Agents.

Are you a State-licensed agency? I doubt it.

More than likely she is talking about ActorsAccess or LACasting rather than Breakdown Express. She obviously can't receive those access credentials even if she tried...

Actually, I know a few actors that have access to the breakdowns and pay a subscription service to obtain them. It is illegal, but some actors do have access.

She specifically mentions breakdown services, not breakdown express. I think she indeed does have access to the goods. But she shouldn't have such access, and if she does, she should not broadcast it here.

maybe it's someone from there trying to suss out actors who WOULD pay for them, and to report them, but to whom?

if i were gary and the breakdowns, i would do that. find the actors and reprt them. maybe to their unions, to agents... but that takes work, and seems like a trap, which could be just as illegal.

hehe i dunno. but still, very illegal.

Ok I'm gonna pull an amateur question out of my hat, so don't tease me Wink
But what exactly are the breakdowns? Is that what the characters are, or what they are looking for? J/W

Breakdowns is industry jargon for Casting Notices that are sent out by casting directors to agents or sometimes the public.

The major film/tv/commercial breakdowns are exclusively available to agents.
