Has anyone heard any news after the Dec. 5th auditions? I emailed the casting director, but didn't hear anything.

My son was chosen as one of the newsboys. This was his first audition for a tour. Any suggestions on how to deal with the local school system? I am having an awful time with this!

Good grief. If you are able financially, then go on the tour. It will be an amazing adventure. Your son will catch up on schoolwork. It's going to be more your responsibility than the tour's tutor to keep him caught up anyway. Think of the LIFE lessons he will learn. Stuff he will never get in a classroom : )

Hi MiFeGo- my dd is currently on a National Tour. Unfortunately the education has not been great. You need to go with the flow on the education, and have the mindset that you will probably need to get your son a private tutor when he returns from the tour.

We, too, got a call on Friday. The sticker is my son has the lead in his school play and can't make the Modesto dates. After MM asked if we were committed to the tour, he said he would work to see if one of the newsboys being replaced could do one more weekend. We should know by the beginning of the week if it's going to work out. Now that we've had some time to get used to the idea, we hope it DOES work out!

I guess I ought to confirm that my son definitely has been cast and will be joining the tour at the end of the month.

Luckily, they were able to work with his prior commitment and still cast him.

Thanks for the congrats.

(No we didn't go to NY to audition...)

It would be great to have a thread going on "What To Expect When doing A National Tour". Take notes and report back!
Congratulations to your son! (and you!)

My son and I may resurrect our blogs that we created for pilot season a couple of years ago. I figured that would be a good way for folks to keep track of where we've been and where we're going. I have to look up the URLs. It's on the "to do" list.
