Hi, In my opinion, if you say and explain a lot, it's too much. Most people reading your letter are likely to be reading many, many letters and resumes. Make it short and concise. The cover letter should briefly introduce you and tell them why you are submitting, and no more. Once you get the audition, or some kind of response, you can fill them in on relevant details. If you think you have a very compelling reason to be chosen for a specific role, find a way to say that in one or two sentences, and leave it at that. Details should be on the resume, not the CL.
