Hi All-

Does anyone have any experience with the non-equity StrawHat auditions? If so, what are your thoughts/gripes/praises on the process? I'm considering submitting my info, but haven't heard much about the auditions.

I have a friend who took part in them. He was cast in an "original, world premiere" that would "eventually" make it to New York. Looked good on paper and the people seemed legit enough. The production turned out to be a bizarre, back woods production -- community theater in the middle of Iowa would have trumped this place. My friend is sickeningly positive; he couldn't even muster up enough to say a kind word about the "production."

What about TRU (Theatre Resources Unlimited)combined audition event? It seems like the same sort of thing as Strawhat or SETC. Anyone ever been to it?
