How do you/did you get over being nervous or shy your first and any audition? And first appearance for the project as well. Do you learn things to say in general so you dont sound awkward while talking about things?
I am just wondering cause Im going to be on set for the first time ever, this weekend. Im so excited but I am nervous that I might come off as a scared little baby and be dissappointing. Frowner

TAKE AN IMPROV CLASS!

I don't know anywhere else that provides a safe environment to really get out of your comfort zone and not feel stupid about it.

First, it's on "THE set".

Second of all, just be yourself but try not to babble and have FUN.

And yes, IMPROV CLASSES!

"A woman, standing nude, looks in the bedroom mirror and says to her husband, "I feel horrible, I look fat and ugly. Pay me a compliment.? Her husband replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect." He never heard the shot."

Amen! If you can make an ass of yourself in front of strangers week after week and learn to trust yourself, you can overcome your anxiety.

I think everything that was said above is good advice, but more then anything, I think it's just practice and experience.

I once had a teacher who said you will probably go on 100 auditions before you start having great ones every time.
