Forgive the question, but, what is the general rule for callbacks? If callback dates are listed, are they the dates for the phone calls to come back or are they the LITERAL dates of when the actors will be back in their offices for another audition? Thanks for any help with this one.

Thank you! Also, as a general rule, is there a certain number of days after the first audition in which you pretty much know they didn't get the job? Are callbacks usually within the first two days or so? Thanks!

Each job is different. You could get a call days or even weeks later. Best advice: audition, forget about it, move on. Then, if you get a call, it's a pleasent surprise.

Last month my dd got a call for a callback from an audition back in February. We were really suprised until that very day we got another callback from another audition that she had back in November after that we were in shock. You just never know what's going to happen.

First, HUGE congrats to your dd on the callbacks! Thank you for the words of encouragement. I'm usually an eternal optimist (to a fault), but I'm learning to hit the auditions and move on. I imagine that must be incredibly rewarding and surprising to receive those callbacks so many months later. That's great! Thanks for the help. Smiler

By eternal optimist, I mean I am thinking every time the phone rings, that it's a callback. This isn't really a bad thing, is it??? But, I'm learning from you all to be a bit more of a realist and it will happen as it happens. Thanks!

You will (hopefully) get to a point that your child is busy doing so many auds that you just kinda forget about some of them so when they do call its a nice surprise. We were like that in the begginging (excited when phone rings) now its no big deal and its not something you think about. You will not always be like that.

There arent really any set rules this business goes by so it is good to just go to an audition and move on. One time my dd's auditioned for a commercial in July and we got a call in September saying they booked. They didn't even have callbacks!

Don't ever give up.

does anyone have experience in episodic tv auditions? DO they ever cast without callbacks? I have heard its a tight time frame with these types of auditions, but if the main casting director is in there but not the director i cant imagine there would not be callbacks. It was taped though,,,,any thoughts, thanks!
