I didn't get the part! I did something really funny and the laughed! Also asked me if I had any conflicts and I said no. So I emailed them and asked them about it. They said they had a huge turnout. So anyway just upset cause that is the first audition Ive had in a while and I really thought I got a part. Right now backstage is my only source of castings. Iv'e tried other things, but they all have the same castings or they cost too much.

Don't despair! The ratio of auditions to bookings is about 1:25 or something crazy like that. It's a great sign that they liked you so much though, it means that you'll be on their mind and who knows, when they're casting something else they may remember you and call you up!

I'd recommend splurging on ActorsAccess and/or LA Casting. The more you submit, the more your chances are to be called out to audition for things and up goes your ratio.

Don't lose hope, but don't be overly optimistic about every audition either. The best thing to do is do your best in the audition, then leave the room and forget about it and focus on the next step to forward your career.

Exactly what Bex said Movie your not the only one that ever happened too. I've experienced it and I'm sure a few others on here have too. Also long as you know in your heart that you did your very best. That's all anyone can ask for. Don't give up ! I would say just keep pushing my boy always say to me..When you go in for an audition give them the performance of your life. Then when you leave out. LET IT GO !!!! See ya on the red carpet !

Most of casting is about the specific type the casting people already have in their minds. You may have done a great job but not been quite what they were looking for. Don't worry about it! You can never take auditions personally. The good thing is that if they liked you and you did a good job, they will likely keep you on file for other projects they are casting, or they will pass your info onto friends who are casting something you might be right for.

It's better to regret what you've done than what you haven't.

Leave the audition at the door when you leave. Otherwise you'll just worry yourself and question yourself causing a lot of unnecessary stress. If you're the right person for the role you'll get cast...if you're not you won't.

Keep submitting and keep auditioning. I don't know where you are located but there is more than just backstage as far as submitting.
