HE was in Billy Elliot camp with a few other boys for quite some time now. A friend of ours was there and we thought for sure he was in... goes to show anything can happen.

How long is the Billy Elliot camp? So are you saying just because they are in the camp they don't get the part? Is there a training camp for Michaels, the same amount of time as Billy's?

In response to NYDanceMom, they could call back at any time wanting to see your child again or they may never call - you just never know.

Thanks the info Oliver. I was wondering this too. Do the children with agents get called differently than those without. Do the children with agents get some kind of feedback after the audition, such as if the height was not right or if the dancing/vocal wasn't strong enough, etc? Or is everyone just left hanging wondering if they will ever be called back again?

Since my son was at that July callback, and then hasn't been called again, should I not bother going again if there is another open call?
I don't have an agent either, so good question alwaysAtDance. Sounds like my son may have been at the same callback as your friend.

Everyone w/out an agent is just left hanging. Those w/agent may get some feedback.
Continue to go to open calls as you're able, your son will be that much more experienced. Don't go if outside of height req.

Did anyone have a dd that auditioned in Chicago Sept 13 and get a callback yet? Also I saw that they are auditioning in NYC on Sept 27. Is that for the Chicago show too?

I would assume they will be considering kids from the NY EPA's for both future replacements for the b'way production and for the tour. That's what the girls left at the end of the recent July open call and callbacks were told.

For the role of "small boy," are they very specific on the age of the boy being seen? It says in the casting call ages 6-7... will they see a child if he is 5 or 8???

I think it's more about height than age.

They had callbacks in Chicago on Monday, September 14th...They said that October 1st, people will know who is being called back again. They were looking at boys as young as 4 for "small boy".

They also brought back a bunch of girls on that Tuesday (Sept 15th) and said they would hear within the next 2 weeks. We are still hopeful!

About how many ballet girls were left at the end of the callback. Did they get to sing or just dance?
