I know it's crucial to submit the day a casting notice comes out. But is it OK to submit after the "cut-off date". Is it considered too amateur? The reason I ask is I just signed up for Actors Access/Showfax & there are a few things I'm interested in that had their due date already. But I noticed that certain overdue notices are still up while some say casting is closed. I know it's probably too late, but can it hurt me? Thanks! Nooby Doo.

If you aren't paying per submission and instead you paid the membership fee, I don't see why not. They most likely will not look at your submission but I don't think it could hurt you to just do it. On Actor's Access, you are just a face. These CAs don't know you personally so I wouldn't worry about it being too amateur. The only thing I would say to look out for is submitting yourself to projects you really don't fit the criteria of (because that will piss them off that they just wasted a "click" looking at you) and you have to make sure the audition dates and filming dates/rehearsals you CAN make. Most CAs specify this thoroughly stating "DO NOT SUBMIT IF YOU CANNOT MAKE THE FILM DATES" or something with that effect.

Moral of the story, submit yourself. It wouldn't do you any damage especially if they look through their submissions and they don't find the perfect person for the role, then they will see your picture. Hey, you never know!

Best wishes.
