So, they're holding auditions tomorrow in Chicago for Mary Poppins standbys for Jane & Michael. My daughter has been seen 3 times already -- June, October and November in NY. Once again, not given an agent appointment for tomorrow. I asked her agent to see if there was any feedback from casting about the other times they have seen my daughter. Now it seems they would like to see her at the open call. Any opinions? Should she sing the same song she has sung or do something different? That's the only part I feel we have any control over.

My daughter went to MP auditions, didn't make it, but had a wonderful time! Then I took her to NY to see the show. It was fantastic! The little girl (& boy were awesome). I cried just imagining how proud & blessed their parents must feel having such amazingly talented kids. I almost felt like their mom, myself!
Hope your dd keeps her dream alive, it's worth it!

I'm sorry I'm not too great at estimating numbers. I know there were 20 total at the open call, and maybe 6 or 7 were boys. After the open call, 6 kids were asked to come back for the agent appts -- 5 girls and 1 boy. At the agent appt there were twice as many girls as boys (according to my daughter), so maybe 30 total, 20 girls & 10 boys. They are having callbacks tomorrow, and were supposed to call last night if they wanted to see your child there. We did not get the call.

Same stuff my daughter has done the last 3 times... Theatre games, the "Temper Temper" scene, sang their own song and a little of Fly a Kite. Weighed and measured. I don't know if everyone was local, although they probably would be. We are local, and I saw lots of familiar faces.

Sounds exactly like the other times. My son is going tomorrow. It doesn't sound like anything new. This is his 4th time being seen, 5 if you count the Disney open call in NYC last June. Let's hope it's the charm!

"weighed" and measured? yikes...what were the height and weight requirements? I know height has always been a big deal with MP and I think my daughter is too tall, but I hadn't heard mention of weight before.

I don't know why they were weighed. To see if the resume was accurate? They didn't have my daughter take off her Uggs, so I don't think they were that accurate anyway. Maybe the stage can only handle so much weight, LOL.

That's funny...Personally, I figure we get to take off at least 10 pds from the scale at the Dr.'s office if he doesn't let us take off our shoes, right? LOL Do you know what the height is for MP now?
