Does anyone know anything about this? Does anyone know around how much they get paid (heard it was next to nothing)? How often do they practice? Does it take away from other auditions and jobs? How many times do they reherse a week? How often do they perform a month? Any info at all would be GREATLY appreciated!!

I don't know about the Nets, but the Knicks City Kids perform at every weekend home game, plus a few "special" games during the year (opening night, MLK Jr. Day, etc.), plus playoffs (not that the Knicks ever make the playoffs anymore ). I would think the Nets kids have a similar schedule.

i know someone who did this.. pay is terrible and definitley interfered with auditions

Thanks Guys! My DD would love to audition but her agent doesn't want her to because of the possibility of interference with other auditions. I thought there was someway i could get around it like maybe they only practice on weekends and perform at weekend games O WELL! Thanks Again!

I thought they did practice only on weekends but I might be mistaken. We went to the Knicks City Kids audition last year and that's what we were told.

O ok. I guess I'll find out Saturday for sure. It's just that if rehersal and games are during the week I would'nt bother taking her to the audition. It interfears with too many other things (Dance, Voice lessons, auditions etc...). Strange enough....Our weekends are when we're free!

they practice for 2 hours during the week. games are mostly on the weekends except if the Nets are in playoffs. Then the schedule gets crazy.

Did anyone go to this audition today? I was there with my dd. I couldn't get a feel for how many kids were there. My dd thought there were close to 250 to start, but I thought it was more like 100. If anyone went, did your dd/ds make the final cut? Does anyone know what the actual pay is?

Yeah momofnikki I was there with my DD. You're right it wasn't more then 100 kids there. There was 2 cuts and they kept about 20 kids (10 of which was the kid dancers from last year).First cut was about 30 kids, Second cut was about 50 (including my DD). It also included about 4 of the nets kid tumblers.

I got the impression that all but one of the Nets Kids current dancers are returning--which leaves only one--or possibly 2--spots open. My dd auditioned last year and made the final cut--but not the team. She auditioned yesterday, too, and was in the final cut, but 14 other kids including her are going after that "one" spot---so we're not holding our breath. I'll let you know if we hear anything!
