Thanks for the motivation and positive outlook..It's just as actress You are actually doing all this seeking auditions on your own (I don't have an agent) and It feel like is there a stone I haven't turned over and everyone has..So one panic though to leads to another...SO yeah I must keep reminding myself it swings back and forth. Phewww! Smiler

I know the feeling. I don't have an agent at the time either (at least not in my new state) and it's tough.

HELOOO!! Writer's strike! No writers = no sides. No sides = fewer auditions.

Even right now in LA, pilot season is getting delayed by the strike. If you were hoping to get on TV or in film within the next few months, the thing is.... there's not much work out here right now. Get used to your day job and hunker down. Sure, a few studios did bank scripts for TV and pilots (tv) to shoot, but many of those scripts were early drafts and many are just not fit to shoot, much less audition principals for those projects.

Oh yea, and the SAG strike is coming up early next year, so be prepared for that to slow auditions as well.

Yes, but the strike should NOT have an immediate impact on commercials. In several months, yes they will be impacted.

Also I've had a few non-union auditions recently.

I also would think that all theatre, student and indie films should still be carrying on.

I'm only speaking from a non-union perspective that for me I find it slow...but I was pondering with my fellow actor friends..could it be that the cost of putting up a production in one of these off-off theatre venues makes it difficult for newcomers to put something new up, ergo the abundance of auditions few years back compared to the scarcity we see today. I get that the union strike effected union workers but I'm seeing a drastic slow down in non-union stuff.

There seems to be a lot of stuff (non-union), but most of the stuff I'm not right for ie I look too young, even though it's close to the real life age or not the right type.

Had an industrial casting today, commercial casting tomorrow. Nonunion for both. I hope this is a good sign for all of us, since a lot of us have been mostly TWIDDLING the last couple of months.

I'm snarky.

Wow, I can't believe my post is still going from last month. But I guess it is still slow. I just got back to town, so I will be finding out now.
