I did an Audition Monday that had a lot to do with physical comedy. I got some laughs as I was doing the rundown. My question is, how can you tell if you did well? Do the session runners usually laugh at everyone just to be polite? If they ask you to do a part over again slightly different, is that a good sign that they like you enough to "mold" you. I know that call backs are a definite sign of a good audition, but how can you tell otherwise?

You can't.

yes.

No. No director is going to "mold" you when there will be dozens of actors who got it exactly how they wanted it during the audition.

see above answer.

Congrats on getting the audition!

I've found that if a CD gives you an adjustment for the scene you just read, it's definitely a good thing. They're checking to see if you can take direction or if you're so stubborn that you'll stick to the way you think is best. They want to know that you're open to direction and willing to go with the flow. Congrats!!!

Getting a note in an audition is a good thing as it keeps you in the room. It means they are interested in seeing if you can adjust, fit the role, take direction, etc. Any number of reasons. Other than that, there's no one who can tell you if you gave a good or bad audition. You can only decide that for yourself. In the long run, it's probably healthier to just forget about the audition shortly after leaving the room. Look at how you did, take note of what you think went right and what went wrong, and then just put it out of your mind. If you concentrate to much on what happened in the room, you'll drive yourself mad.

Just like with all auditions, with a physical comedy audition, there is no sure way to know how you did (or what they thought of you).

Sometimes you can get a vibe from them, but if they are professionals, you will probably have no clue.

Just do your best at the audition, and do your best to move on to the next one as soon as you walk out the door.
