Focus--get alone and go through the script as many times as possible. If you can ask questions about the character you're reading for, do so. See if they give you some background or something of the storyline. If there are storyboards to look at, check em out. Otherwise, bring a highlighter and a pencil with you, highlight your lines so you can easily see them. Take the pencil and mark your key words, punctuation and beats. Then try reading the sides with several different choices, then choose the one you think is best. Perhaps they'll ask you to read it again with a different choice or give you direction. It sometimes helps to memorize the first and last line, so you can look at the reader or camera, and not always down at the script. Highlighting your lines may help you see when you do have to look down at the page. If it is commercial copy, know what they are selling--how does the script sell this product. Think also about the moment before and after your scene, what is your character doing? Lastly, take a deep breath, relax, and do your best. An audition is in many ways the job, but it is not the end of the world. Go and enjoy the rest of the day.
