Auditions for the Broadway Dreams Foundation Summer Intensive in Atlanta is posted on Backstage.com. My son participated last year, and it was an incredible experience. Long story short, he had done a lot of community theater, but it had never dawned on us that he might be able to do something outside of Atlanta. He was noticed at his original audition for the camp and it was suggested that he audition for the role of Michael Banks in the national tour. He made it to those final callbacks last November in NYC. We learned so much, and I can't say enough about this non-profit group. He'll be going again this year, and the final set of auditions are April 3rd and 5th. You can get all the details from listing on Backstage.com under workshops and classes or at mybroadwaydreams.com. There will be scholarships available. They're holding the lead role auditions and dance auditions May 16th and 17th for all camp participants, and Craig Burns from Telsey & Co. Casting in NYC will be casting the show which will take place at the end of the camp. Katy Guyton from the NYU CAP21 program will also be there to meet with scholarhip applicants or oversee that process. I can't say enough about our experience last year, and I'm now helping as a parent volunteer. If you live in the Southeast, it is a wonderful opportunity.
