hello there everyone

I was just wondering if auditions were starting to pick up now, or is it still slow for everyone. OH if anyone has kids or teens in the business, can you say if your child(children) have gotten called for auditions recently. Thank you very much.

Things are painfully slow for my dd right now. She is 9 and Cauc/Hisp/AA.

Nothing here. My DD is 10, Afro-American and Sag. We haven't heard a thing since the strike and probably won't untill it's over Frowner . Hopefully more Broadway auditions will open soon.

Yes they seem to be picking up. My kids are LH, DS is 4 and my DD is 9. I've been going at least once a week (for each) the last few weeks.
Edited to say:
They are not SAG. My 11 year old DD is and she hasn't gotten anything, not even background.

It's been SSSSSSLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWWW for my DD also who is 10 and Afro-American. Hopefully this strike will be over soon!

Still slow here as well. I keep hearing rumors of things that "might" be happening but then it fizzles out. I am hoping that the talks they are supposed to be having soon will straighten this all out.

It seems like the common thread between the kids who are slow mentioned on here is the age and ethnicity. I wonder if things are better for kids in other breakdowns?

Alwaysabridesmaid I'm curious to know if your childs manager/agent has her down for all 3 ethnicities considering they usually just send them for the one they look like. That might be the issue. Their are definately more castings for caucasian and african american kids then hispanic from what I've seen and heard. The UFT commercial my daughter audtioned for last week was for age 7-9, males and females of all kinds.

Really slow for 16 year old. Doing extra work to keep busy! On "Doubt" set for two days! better than nothing!

I actually have a meeting set up to go in and discuss that very thing. It makes it hard when she isn't a clear-cut ethnicity.

Also wanted to ask you what UFT stands for?

The United Federation of Teachers. It was an audition for NYC public school kids and teachers.

OK, I feel better knowing what that one was. She is in private school and I believe I read in another forum that they wanted actual public school kids for that one. So at least she wasn't just skipped over.
