Does it look like they will use any teens, or only young adults who look like teens?

I believe there was a 13-17 category listed at the bottom. It looks Non-AEA from the pay scale listed.

What is Non-AEA? What does it mean when they say "some pay" in the casting notice?

Sorry for my ignorance. Confused
Thanks.

My guess is they're looking for young adults to play late teens, except for the part of Randolph, the little brother, who is supposed to be around around 12-13.

So, in your opinion(s) Fishmom/Sassymom, it would not make sense for a young teen girl to go to the audition?

Hi dancefever,

I don't think it's a good use of your time to go to this audition - "Kim" and her classmates in the show are late teens (Jrs. or Srs. in High School, if I remember correctly). Also, this is clearly a tour that is watching its budget, so it's highly unlikely they'd hire someone underage who would need a chaperone to travel with them.

With summer coming up, there are a lot of community theater and "camp" shows coming up - they may not "pay", but if you're a young teen interested in musical theater, that might be a good route for getting some experience this summer and having a lot of fun at the same time.

I will PM you with some info about community theaters in my area, in case you are in the same area.

Hi Dancefever- I think that if you can afford to do a low-paying tour, that it's a great experience and you should go for it!

Non Equity tours are low paying already, what does "some pay" mean? Lower than lower? Normally it's around 350 to 500 depending on the role. Could this tour possibly be lower than 350 a week?

With Non Union tours almost anything goes. There is nothing to regulate them.
