thanks momof4nyc- do you know of any other kids with callbacks? trying to figure out how many so we can guess how many more callbacks there might be as we are supposed to be on vacation right now and have put it of till wed afternoon, but are worried that another call back might happen on fri??? we really want to get away for at least a few days if we can.-- but we are excited-- it was fun and the people we met there were great.

Wow 1 1/2 hours! What did they do?

what did they do?? Well they danced. First they danced some tap then they did some ballet and then they did a jazz routine (she said this was fun!)- some of the girls had to dance on point. Ny daughter said they danced in pairs so i guess it took longer?? She had a great time- it seemed everyone worked hard- i hope she giets it --- two times getting so close- it is exciting- first the grinch and now this- there aren't too many opportinities for broadway auditions for a little girl........

they danced- first tap, then ballet and a jazz routine- my daughter said it was fun and that the tap was challnging- i heard they were elliminating kids based on the tap-- must be very important - heard they were looking for three specific heights- we will see!!!!

Sorry ELF I don't know anyone from this audition or the callbacks. It's so exciting that your DD has made it this far. You must be so proud!! My dd is 9(hispanic) so she doesn't get many opportunities for Broadway. I'm so excited for the both of you!

how did they handle the callbacks? Well they told the kids while they were in the audition room. The parents were not there- according to my daughter they said that they were all tallented that is why they had been called back in the first place and that they were looking for specific heights and types etc.. then they called out the names- that was it- the kids came back into the waiting room and we walked home!!!
now i have a goofy question- i amnew to these chat arenas and i do not know what a DD is or a ds is...HA HA!!! can youfillme in?

My daughter was in 2nd grp & was told to come back on wednesday, along with 6 other girls. Many of her friends were here today in all different grps.. we figured an average of 6 per session seem to have been kept (sometimes 4, sometimes 10..) so the wednesday looks like between 50 & 60 kids. I've heard mumblings about more callback like this on Tuesday? Oh boy, that can sure make a difference in numbers. I thought it was weird that they told the kids in the room without parents but it was probably less dramatic that way. But that has never happened to us before..usually agent calls us back or they announce w/parents present, right? Anyway, we know some amazing dancers that were cut, so it's definitely as they said. They are looking for a certain type.

I am confused why wouldn't an hispanic girl have many chances on broadway? i think that a person with some ethnicity would be welcomed into broadway- am i right or wrong???

We had two girls - identical twins from our studio (in Florida) audition on Monday. One got a callback and one didn't.
