My dd had an audition on Saturday. At the end of the audition the cd told her he was glad she came and he would be in touch. Someone once told me that if they tell you that, they mean the opposite. Has anyone ever had that happen to them?

DD went for a callback on a student film today. Met another girl in the waiting room, kids practiced together and were called in together. CD brings them both back, says they both did a good job - and asks the OTHER parent if he and his daughter could stay a little while longer.
Well, DD was crestfallen. She dropped two tears. I told her she was wonderful and the right role would come along. She agreed. We ate french fries. (No, we don't ALWAYS eat something!)
Twenty minutes after we got home, they called to say they loved DD and want her for the role.
My DD had the same experience - we drove 7 hours for an open call to audition for a role that she had been studying for years. After what she felt was one of her strongest auditions, the director said there was no need for her to come to the callback the following day. What a dissappointment. A few months went by and she received a call that the auditions were finally complete and she had secured the role from the start, which is why she did not have to return. It taught us both a valuable lesson......you never know what is truly happening in the casting process unless you are the one behind the table!
