There are many factors influencing the acting business. The major ones are: 1) The overall financial health of the nation (right now, we're in a recession). 2) The status of the acting unions (are they they in accordance, or planning a strike). 3) Normal industry cycles (summer and holiday hiatuses, pilot seasons). Right now, we're experiencing the worst possible scenarios of EACH. This is the time to educate yourself, plan and prepare. My prediction for the future however, is bright. Once we get the hell out of the Iraq War, the American dollar will immediately regain value. Anyone contemplating a SAG strike is out of their minds. And once these issues are addressed properly and the fall season begins, I expect very good things. So, just cross you fingers, and always have a positive attitude. quote: Originally posted by CHMom3: I was wondering the same thing but more on the kids front. We were so so busy in June and July and now is august it just seemed to stop. We have had one audition. I read on the boards that there have been a few things my dd might have been able to go to but for the most part I think it even seems slow from what I have read. Any body else feel this way....dd just turned 5. Does it seem to pick up in Sept. for kids as well? Then I am assuming it slows down again in December? Any info would be great.
We're in the same boat...seems my kids are getting more through my self submissions. I have been wondering the same thing as you. best to all...
