Congrats to your son! My DD was in the Atlanta auditions and was called back for the 2nd day there, but isn't moving forward to NY. She's outgrown the role (bummer!)
Anyway... I see you're from Alabama. Us too. I don't know if you're in the Bham area but if you are there are a lot of great theatre opportunities around here that you may/may not know about. I'd love to compare notes with you...

We are in Tuscaloosa, but would be interested in B'ham possibilities. After we get through the NY callback we'll keep in touch and maybe see you in B'ham! Thanks for the info.

sounds good. I check these boards somewhat infrequently, so feel free to PM me if/when you want the scoop on Birmingham.
One place to consider is Red Mountain Theatre Company (redmountaintheatre.org). They're a professional theatre company that has an auditioned year-round performing ensemble for kids/teens. They get to perform with the likes of Jason Robert Brown (of Broadway's "13") and Paul Caanan (of "Legally Blond"). My DD has been working with this company for several years and loves it.

They have to audition in Chicago. It is the point of origin.
This was posted before.
Wanna be in 'Mary Poppins'? Disney is auditioning in Chicago for "Mary Poppins," both for the Broadway and national touring productions. For Chicago actors, this is one of the perks of the national tour starting here.
Equity regulations require that shows with a Chicago "point of origin" hold tryouts at that point. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think they have to do this in Chicago.

I have searched for more info on the Chicago Oct. 19th auditions. I only found one website article online. I'm wondering if it's for kids in general because it didn't say for Michael and Jane like the others. And it's not posted on the Disney website like the D.C. audition was. Does anyone know where we can look for more info?

We got the call today from the casting agency in NY as well as a package emailed with details about Mary Poppins. If you got the same call check in so we can connect before we go.

My son got called last week to come to NYC (10/16) or Chicago (10/19)for callbacks from the June Chicago audition. They sent sides and music. Final callbacks are in NY 11/2 & 3.

DD wants to go to open call to give it another try. I figure since she feels so strongly about it, we may as well. At least we can put the whole MP thing to rest.
