HAS ANYONE EVER BEEN THROUGH THE AMERICAS GOT TALENT AUDITION PROCESS? I AM PLANNING ON ATTENDING THE AUDITIONS IN CHICAGO THIS MONTH. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE PROCESS IS AFTER THE INITIAL AUDITION? WHAT KIND OF TIME/DATE/TRAVEL AND MONEY COMMITMENTS ARE THERE? I CANT FIND THIS INFO ANYWHERE, AND NEED TO KNOW BECAUSE I WANT TO MAKE SURE ANY REQUIRED COMMITMENTS WOULDN'T OVERLAP WITH OTHER COMMITMENTS I HAVE. PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!
THANKS!!

I went to the so you think you can dance auditions last year. since they are similar shows, they may have similar audition processes, but don't count on anything. at so you think you can dance, we waited and waited and waited. a friend and i went to the theatre the night before just so we knew where it was and there were already 50 people lined up. we woke up at 4am and got to the theatre around 6am and there were hundreds and hundreds waiting, wrapped around blocks. i think i waited outside for 6 or 7 hours than once we got in had to wait another 5 or 6 hours. they gave everyone 30-45 seconds to improvise and then gave you a ticket to the next round if they liked you. my friend got kept and made him come back the next day to learn a bunch of choreography. but they made him and everyone else sit around for literally 10 hours, just filming all the drama and the down time. he didn't actually do anything till about 8 at night. so just be prepared for anything and be prepared to wait, alot.

oh and i forgot to mention that that was in nyc, i went to the chicago audition the week after and i waited outside for about 2 hours as opposed to 6, waited inside for about 2 hours opposed to 5. it was much faster than nyc, still a long day but nothing in comparison.

bailadora: Thanks so much for your info. I had a feeling the wait and line would be ridiculous. Do you have any idea what the process might consist of if you do get accepted and move on to the next step? I wonder if there are several more steps that involve travel, and when they might take place? Do you have any idea if there are any charges, and if you do move on if travel is paid for or out of pocket? Thanks again!! I sure appreciate it!
