I have several callbacks for student films tomorrow. I have never worked on a student film or anything on camera before, and I'm an teenager. Does anyone have any tips, or know what to expect? It would be very helpful!

Thanks!

organized chaos if you're lucky; general chaos if you're not.

Student films really are a crab shoot... sometimes they seem to have a clue, but sadly they usually don't.

I think I might scale back on the student films in 2008.

My DD has an audition for a student film. There is "No pay, but professional reel will be provided. Deferred payment via the Screen Actors Guild Student Film Agreement rules will apply"

This is the fist time we have done anything other than community theatre. Any suggestions, ideas of what to expect. What things should I ask at the audition?

Any input appreciated

Crap shoot, Iceman! LOL.

Sorry, had to hijack for a second.

As for what to expect? See above posts. There's no telling. Search the message boards, and find all sorts of experiences on student film sets.

The casting process is just like any low budget operation. Student films really vary as to just how prepaired they are. In production it ranges from 'These kids really have their act together and show professional skills' to me putting on my adjunct professor hat and offering advice if not downright showing them how... We have been lucky with finding very qualified productions at SUNY Purchase and NYU. Others not quite so good. But they are all fun! And you never know who is going to make it big and remember you.....
