It just seems that a lot of people who do castings have limited visual imagination when they see a given headshot and I think the hair, while not being sloppy and looking good is somewhat typecasting as the standard slacker hair. To me, iot just seems liek some just can't visualize it short before they bring me in for anything and it kind of stinks for me b/c I feel like I have a lot of visual range. I suppose one solution woudl be to do a short hair set of HS and just send acordingly since my hair as can be seen is easily paired down with a comb and some moisture. It just seems like a royal pain in the ass.

I agree with Robert Kim. Both are great and really show a different look. My DS has 2 looks, too, and uses 2 headshots. One for the clean cut Disney look and one for edgy. He just uses which ever one is appropriate for what he is submitting for.

I let a couple of retouchers try to clean up the hair slightly but I wans't happy with the result at all. They just made it look like a Darth Vader helmet of curly hair.

The curly hair is wonderful. It gives you a much softer feel but the other ones you look a bit tougher. I'd keep it and slick it back. But if I had to decide between the two I would say don't cut.

I really like your curly hair. Kind of a Tom Everett Scott sort of look. The other look seems more to me like "trying" to change your look..it just doesn't come across like "you."
JMO. Certainly as others have said you could slick it back if you wanted a headshot that shows a different side of you.

Big fan of the longer, curly look, but it totally depends on what you're going for. If you keep it long, you could always gel it back to give yourself the edgier look. My vote is to keep the locks!!
I like the headshots and the hair, that has never been the issue. I just think with the gel thing, you still have to contend with the fact that people look at the things and are unable to visualize beyond their initial impressions. It is sort of a fine line I suppose to make something inclusive.

Coming from a curly haired person...I love the curls its who you are. If you want different looks try blowing it out straight, thats what I do. I look completely different. I prefer the curls.

Me again. I had to change my screen name form KCB as the Backstage system was being buggy and wouldn't let me link the old account. Well, I rolled the dice and had it trimmed down, though long enough to still have curl to it. It seems to have worked so far, calls are up and I booked an episode of a program for satellite tv literally two weeks after I had it done.
