This photo is clearly a snapshot, but in a pinch, functional for the purpose. You've already made it clear that you're saving up for professional shots soon, this will suffice until then. www.robertkim.comSpecial Back Stage Discounts www.imdb.com/name/nm0453647/

If you have read any of the other posts by people regarding headshots and my responses, you would know by now how utterly frustrated I get with people submitting half-assed crap and trying to pass it off as professional. I find it tiresome, unprofessional and a waste of time and it is NOT going to cut it on any level in this business. If you can't afford the business, you shouldn't be in the business. Save your $$$ til you can afford professional shots and everything else that goes with it. The competition is brutal and you need to bring your A-game at all times. I get sick of people and their "any old how" attitude. You are in a small market. I am sure photographers there are considerably cheaper than in LA or NYC so there is no excuse not to have the appopriate shots.

I feel your frustration, miss stone. It seems that 99% of the photos we see posted here are amateur attempts, bad at best. But this young lady has clearly expressed her desire to ultimately replace this snapshot with a professionally done headshot when she can afford it. On this board I've noticed that many parents use snapshots EXCLUSIVELY for their children's submissions. While I understand that their kids are growing exponentially, I often cringe when I see what they're trying to compete with. Imagine how I feel when I see grown adults repeating the practice when I know full well that their photos will get them nothing but rejection. In EnglishRose's case, she's in a minor market (far less competition) and just needs something that "gets her by" and represents her reasonably well-- which this snapshot accomplishes. Of course it lacks "polish," but it is accurate and acceptable enough for her current needs. Save your fervor for posters like "n.a.t.a.l.i.a." who have been trying in vain all year to get a great headshot from a bargain basement photographer. This young lady already knows what's required to succeed. www.robertkim.comCheck out our all-new “Before & After” Headshots www.imdb.com/name/nm0453647/

True, true. Good points on all counts. But see now, my feeling on competing in a smaller market is this- a better chance to SHINE!! Since you are up against far less people and less competition, you have a major and greater opportunity to really stand out and make your mark. Imagine how MUCH better you will do if all around bring their local market acceptable B game and you strut in with your LA or NYC quality, A game headshots, some training etc- the whole bit. You will stand out above all the crap that much more and BOOK more often and get that much needed experience and credits for your resume. How much better will you be for LA or NYC will you be if you have experience etc before arriving. In addition, if from the word go you treat every single thing in your path to success with the same respect you would a Spielberg film audition, you can't lose. It defines you as an artist and sets in place excellent habits for the long run. NEVER SETTLE!!!!!!! Strive for perfection always!!!BRING IT!!

They look like snapshots, nothing more to say. (Your image reminds me of Hilary Duff (dignity days), but you don't look like her physically)
