Hey everyone! Tomorrow I've got my first appt with an agent, and he's asked me to bring in professional quality headshots... So here I am, asking for your opinions! Which of the two shots is better? Neither have been edited, does that need to happen? Realistically, are they up to snuff? Have I got a snowball's chance? Thanks in advance for the help!

Robert Kim: Thank you! And yes, the photographer who took the shots is indeed an amateur. That said, I had a good experience with him, and they were $free.99 so I can't really complain. Aside from lighting, is there anything that really puts me at a disadvantage with these shots? I'm on a (very) limited budget so I can't go and shell out big bucks for pro shots, any other ideas?
AnitaLoos1: The agent is Richard Brannan, of Actor's Reps NYC. I came in on an "extras" call and the interviewer suggested I come back for an interview with Richard... I've done my homework on Actor's Reps; I know they don't have a good "Rep" on the internet, but I figure I've got nothing to lose so why not try it.
Thanks for the feedback!

no, you dont need money to make money in this sense. your "headshots" only need a few minor adjustments. First put the light in FRONT of you jesus, look at the shadow on your face..
and dont use mixed lighting.

You have a great look, and will get great results from a professional photographer.
My suggestion is to choose several photographer's portfolios that you like, and then schedule a meeting with each of them. Then, choose the photographer who makes you feel the most comfortable. If you feel comfortable during your shoot with a competent photographer, you will be rewarded with great shots!
Good luck to you.
Best,
Ron PS. It's great you got the meeting without headshots, but you WILL need them in order to get auditions.

Not that great. It's a scam agency, remember? MY advice? You seem a little to eager/crazy/gnawing at the bit for representation to me. SLOOOOW down. Train, do some student films, get some stuff on tape and get GOOD enough to actually get an agent. One that is legit and will be beneficial. You are screaming desperate/overeager/inexperienced to me. Take it down a notch and learn the biz and the craft.

While I respect your experienced advice - or is it jaded conjecture? - "gnawing" and "screaming" aren't gerunds often associated with me or my attitude. In fact, you couldn't be farther from the truth. Desperate? No. Overeager? I'll give you the latter part of the word. Inexperienced? Maybe. I suppose you could guess my S.A.T. score too huh?
With all that said, I think the gist of your post is right - I do need to learn more. That part has been the easy part for me, though; it's the motivation part I've had trouble with. So maybe it would behoove you to know a little more about the play before you step in and make a call.
Again thanks for the post miss stone.

Thanks Chris! I've got my meeting today so we'll see how it goes. To those who warn about the "scam," I'll let you know my take on it once I meet with the guy. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt until I actually see/hear otherwise for myself.
