This is my first headshot and I'd love any criticisms anyone has. My goal is to work in tv/film but for now while in school and building my resume I'm looking at student films and smaller projects. Does this work? Thanks![

There are a couple things that stand out to me - the background is a bit distracting (to me, anyway), much of the detail in your hair is lost in shadow and the image doesn't seem sharply focused on your eyes - although that maybe a factor of a low rez proof.

I'd be interested to see more from the photo session.

I would say it doesn't work. Your expression is a bit off. Your eyes don't seem to match yours smile. I can't tell if this is supposed to be a commercial or a dramatic shot. Very nice face though. Your pose is also a bit funny. This, to me feels unnatural. A headshot is all about communicating who you really are. I'm not sure that this photo does that.
